Description:

The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), Global Health (GH), Office of Health, Infectious Diseases, and Nutrition (HIDN) anticipates the award of a five year Leader with Associates (LWA) Cooperative Agreement for assisting USAID in the implementation of the Access to Clinical and Community Maternal, Neonatal and Women?s Health Services (ACCESS) activity.

It is expected that this cooperative agreement will address maternal and neonatal health and survival, and where targets of opportunity exist, key women?s health issues that affect health, productivity and quality of life. This program, called ?Access to Clinical and Community Maternal, Neonatal and Women?s Health Services? Program (ACCESS) will complement existing and planned projects in the Bureau for Global Health portfolio and support the Bureau?s mandate in global leadership and support to the field.

USAID?s vision is to achieve large-scale impact by expanding population coverage, access to and use of proven interventions that improve maternal and neonatal health and survival and address the quality of life of women by maximizing the quality, capacity, and equity of services, and responsiveness to gender. The main thrust of the program is to bring essential maternal and neonatal services and interventions as close to the family as possible.
